Cairns And Port Douglas Wedding Transport
The bride and groom can choose to arrive at the wedding chapel, hotel resort or beachfront location in many styles and modes of transport. Some of the more traditional types of wedding transport are the horse and carriage that prances down the esplanade just like the way it's done in Britain, the open top classic car convertibles from all eras, the stretch limousine, the stretch hummer or the formal wedding Calais sedan.
Some more unique wedding transport options can be for the bride or groom to parachute down onto the beach in Palm Cove, land a helicopter on the beach or coral sand cay, arrive on the back of a roaring Harley Davidson trike or in the side car. You could take a helicopter or a Seaplane to a location out on the Great Barrier Reef where your family and friends will be waiting. Cairns and Port Douglas Beaches
There are quite a number of pretty Cairns beach locations you can choose to exchange your wedding vows or conduct a commitment ceremony.
In Cairns itself the esplanade is a popular place for brides to be on the lush green lawns and boardwalks overlooking the cities harbour, then you have the next popular beach location of Holloway's beach Holloway's beach with its soft sand and tree lined frontage. There is also a beachfront restaurant here that you can have your wedding reception straight after your beach wedding ceremony.
Heading north from Holloway's Beach is Yorkeys Knob that offers a bay like location with a rocky outcrop that is a great prop for those dramatic wedding photographs. Yorkeys Knob is not dissimilar to Holloway's Beach in that it is like a little community village built around the beachfront as the main attraction. Holloway's Beach does not have beachfront restaurants like Holloway's Beach or Palm Cove but it does have the Yorkeys Knob boat club which has a great timber deck that looks out over the harbour and all of the luxury vessels on their moorings.
Next is Trinity Beach another very popular bay like beach front with a craggy hillside that has good walking trails that make for great photography overlooking the Great Barrier Reef (Link to the new GBR page when you re-load it). The beachfront esplanade here is lovingly cared for by the residents of Trinity Beach and the city council and it is absolutely stunning and a credit to all of their efforts.
Trinity Beach also has a selection of lovely beachfront restaurants that you can hold your wedding reception.
Then onto Clifton Beach a more natural non man made beachfront esplanade with giant ancient Melaleuca trees and a mixture of palm trees and native bush land. Another very pretty Cairns beach wedding location. Clifton Beach has an array of holiday accommodation but no beachfront restaurants for wedding ceremonies.
Palm Cove known as the jewel in the crown of the Cairns northern beaches for most bride and grooms as it is a small beachfront village with cobble stoned streets, palm fringed beaches with all the major hotels and resorts just a few steps away. Palm Cove also offers a multitude of choice for your wedding reception venue as there are a number of five star resorts with function rooms and sprawling gardens. There are also quite a number of restaurants that are popular for holding wedding receptions.
One of the biggest wedding draw cards for Palm Cove is its beautiful white wedding chapel located on the beachfront at the Angsana Resort and Spa. This purpose built wedding chapel is exclusively managed by South Pacific Bridal and provides the answer to all of those brides that dreamed of that white wedding in a beachfront chapel. It really is stunning.
Palm Cove also offers another wedding chapel that is located in the Cairns Tropical Zoo just for something different. This wedding chapel has a nice garden setting with a fountain out front which is a nice location to pose for your wedding photographs.
To the north Ellis Beach is another natural type of beach that is located five minutes drive north from Palm Cove. It offers idyllic views across the ocean to Double Island and northwards along the coast to Port Douglas making it a very pretty wedding photography location indeed. There is only one casual style restaurant with bar facilities here if you would like to have a small wedding celebration.
Next wedding destination northwards from Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway is Port Douglas known as the playground of the rich and famous. Port Douglas like Palm Cove has a beautiful white wedding chapel that is extremely popular all year round that is located on the waterfront side of Anzac park with beautiful views out over the ocean to the mountains beyond. Like the Palm Cove wedding chapel you have to reserve your date as soon as possible if you were planning on either of these chapels for your Cairns and Port Douglas beach wedding.
Port Douglas also offers a good array of resorts to hold your wedding reception and a large selection of restaurants that would also suit. Port Douglas also has a spectacular rainforest setting for the wedding reception just seven minutes drive from the main street at a place called Flames of the Forest Again like the beachfront chapels you need to enquire early if you wanted to book this location out exclusively.
