Billabong Horseback Adventures offers visitors to Tropical North Queensland a very exclusive and personalised rainforest horse riding experience that is unmatched by other local operators.
Horse riding tours operate daily with half day horse riding adventure tours as well as exclusive sunset and evening horse riding adventures. Being the only licenced establishment of its kind in the far north, exclusive dinner packages, and also romantic couples tours including post tour alcoholic beverages are also a speciality adding to the amazing riding experience.
Billabong Horseback Adventures runs a stable of highly trained, quiet and friendly Australian Stock horses, Arabians, and Quater horses, as well as ponies, suitable for children and small adults. The operation is family owned and operated, and in its short time of operation is already renowned for its well cared for horses as well as being a family friendly operator catering for children ages 5 and up.
Billabong Horseback Adventures pride themselves on offering a unique atmosphere by limiting riding group sizes to only 6 riders, catering for beginner to advanced riders alike, with no previous riding experience necessary to participate, as a short lesson is included as part of the tour. Private tours are aso available upon request, allowing riders to experience a tour tailored to their own riding ability.
Experienced trail riding guides will take riders on an unforgettable journey along our heritage trails which lie within a wildlife corridor that is habitat to many native animals such as the Cassowary, Bush Turkey, Wallaby, Paddemelon, Ulysses Butterfly and Lace Monitor (Goanna), all which roam free around on the property.
Trail riding tours will venture through amazing rainforest, and eucalypt woodlands, along meandering freshwater creeks and streams, and breathtaking scenic mountaintop views. Riders will also be given the opportunity to participate in trots, with more confident riders given opportunities to canter.
Other attractions at Billabong Horseback Adventures include giant Strangler Fig Trees, Termite nests and the tranquil Billabong which is home to the Water Dragons, Ducks, Turtles, Fish and Eels. There is also has a Kangaroo Sanctuary, where feeding Kangaroos is welcome. Guests are also welcome to get up close and personal with Morgan and Gordon the tame bulls.
Courtesy accommodation transfers from Cairns, Northern Beaches and suround are included with all tours.
