An Evening Of Dining In The Enchanting Candle Lit Port Douglas Rainforest
Flames of the Forest is for everyone staying anywhere from Cairns and the northern beaches to Port Douglas and a dining experience that is not to be missed especially if you love your food and wine or you have a special occasion coming up that you would just like to share with someone special.
The Journey To Flames Of The Forest Port Douglas
Coach transfers begin in Cairns at around 6.00pm and Palm Cove and northern beaches at 6.40pm. You travel in air conditioned comfort along the Captain Cook Highway to Port Douglas and make a turn off to the left onto a sealed bitumen road where the coach begins to enter the darkness and the rainforest tree canopies create a pathway to the unsealed road where your evening's adventure begins. Your coach winds its way around rainforests with dangling vines and trees with extensive branches that create a lace like effect above the coaches pathway and this is the point when you get the feeling that the evenings mystery is just beginning and everyone in the coach begins to spark up and peer out the coach windows to see what is coming up.
Your Dining Experience Begins
As you near your evenings outdoor dinner destination the coaches headlights are turned off and as you round the last bend your eyes are met with flickering flames that light up the road in front of you letting you know you have now arrived at your destination and the evenings dining adventure is about to begin.
Your evening's hosts welcome you and lead you through the candle lit rainforests to the black silk lined canopy where handmade crystal chandeliers and bud lighting hang creating the dramatic effect that you felt was about to envelope you. As you peer around at your surroundings you take in the all the strategically placed lighting that is wound around all the enormous ancient rainforest trees and branches.
As you settle into your seat you will begin to hear the sounds of the rainforest and its creatures that scurry around at night looking for their own dinner or for a bit of fun with their own kind. If you are lucky you may have an Australian native Wallaby or a Bandicoot hop on by for a look at you all.
Your evening's hosts come from the darkness and serve a selection of beers and wines along with some tasting plates to get your taste sensors wanting more and then dependant on the evening you are visiting Flames Of the Forest the platters of exotic foods will begin to descend to your table. Just be careful to not fill up on the first platter as there are more tempting platters to come.
Again dependant on the evening that you choose to experience Flames of the Forest seating is either separate tables or combined with other guests that you can share the evening and your tales of travel. If it's a special occasion and you prefer to have a private intimate affair, Saturday night is the night for you, as we can ensure that we will have a special table just for you.
Evening Entertainment
Apart from the serenity of the rainforest surrounds and its own sounds that it makes with rustling leaves and trickling streams, you can just hear the soft music in the background that is perfectly chosen for the situation.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday's you will get to meet two local Aboriginal lads whose ancestors grew up in the Mowbray Valley rainforest regions and they will share some legends and entertain you with didgeridoo playing, songs and tales of interest about the Port Douglas region and its inhabitants.
As the evening goes on the delicious desserts are served onto your tables along with final beverages before the tea and coffee is served.
As you leave the enchanted rainforest all the wait staff line up and bid you farewell and assist you onto your coach for a relaxing journey back to your hotel accommodation. At the beginning of the journey you will hear the chitter chatter from everyone about their thoughts on the evenings entertainment and experience. And then that will wane into silence as guests become sleepy and look forward to reaching their hotels accommodation safely with the assistance of the coach driver.
Come on and join us for one of the most amazing dining experiences in the beautiful rainforest setting of Port Douglas

My favourite part of this dining experience happened as soon as I arrived there. wherever there is that is - with our destination being top secret. It was that first moment where your walking along this rainforest path and it opens up and you see the most breathtakingly beautiful view lit up with chandeliers. The whole experiences was just wonderful and the food was delicious, I had to remind myself to pace myself with seven courses to look forward to.

Food was delicious and the aboriginal entertainment was really good. However it was the lit up rainforest setting which really made the night spectacular.
