Binoculars are onboard our balloon baskets for your use, ask the pilots too about the local surroundings or for an expert guide to the wonderful world of ballooning, don't hesitate to ask. Your balloon will be flown by one of Australia's most experienced balloon pilots with thousands of hours of flying, their knowledge of the ballooning world is amazing.
Ballooning and the Great Barrier Reef
If you really want to have an amazing day in Cairns combine ballooning with a trip to Green Island or the Great Barrier Reef, free transfers after ballooning to Cairns Reef Terminal for 10am.
Ballooning and Kuranda
Start your day with a balloon ride then afterwards, enjoy Kuranda the village in the rainforest, just half way between the balloon launch site and Cairns. Every morning before sunrise, drive past Kuranda to float over the Atherton Tablelands, so after your balloon flight why not combine Skyrail or Kuranda Scenic Railway or time shopping at the Kuranda markets. It's the ideal way to spend a day in the tropics.

AAAmmmazzziinngg! Always wanted to fly in a hot air balloon finally got to do it in Cairns. found out it is a lot cheaper here than anywhere else in Australia by around $100 bucks. So cool in the early hours of the morning the silence and just the hot air burners. the feeling of weightlessness. Whoo hoo loved it just do it!

I had a very limited time in Cairns so I chose to do Hot Air ballooning in the morning and then go to the reef in the day. I was very impressed with how much energy my guide had considering how early it was, he got me very excited about my first day in Cairns. Definately a once in a life time opportunity, that I want to do twice. :)

It was a cold and very early morning but I was warmed pretty quickly by the fire. The basket was comfortable and roomier that I had anticipated. And the view was AWESOME! we just kept going up and up and up. what an experience, it's really living and I couldn't have chosen a better destination then Cairns. just phenonmenal.

I am not an early morning person, but I would definately get up for this. To see the sunrise from such great heights and see the world slowly waking up. It was a really great day out for all of my family. To be up in the clouds is the best feeling.

So glad to find this Cairns Travel Reviews site so I can tell others to make sure they try Hot Air Ballooning from Cairns. Not only is it cheaper than in Melbourne but the scenery of the countryside is awesome. So funny to look down at the Kangaroos as they scamper away from the balloon above them. Sunrise peace and serenity is the way to describe this balloon trip. The stillness of the morning and and the sanctity of silence apart from the oohs and ahhs from fellow balloon travellers.

We had a fantastic time it is amazing how quiet it is. I proposed to my girlfriend whilst up in the air it was so romantic tand then we had a great champagne breakfast and the Hot Air crew really looked after us. Oh by the way she said YES.
