Our Regional Council Markets are a fantastic place to find local produce and give visitors a glimpse of what the Cairns region has to offer.
Markets are very convenient and are great to meet passionate local businesses, sample their produce & products all in one place. Local businesses are very proud of their region and their heritage and will be more than happy to reveal one or two of their secrets.
You will find a wide range of produce such as local tropical fruits, vegetables and flowers that you have probably never heard of and that can’t be found in supermarkets. Fish and seafood can also be found. You will also uncover an array of arts and crafts such as pottery, jewellery, clothing all hand made by local talents, which make perfect gifts. You will be amazed by the food stalls inspired by cuisines from all over the world to delight your taste buds. There are even local natural remedies (papaw cream, tea tree soap…), performing artists and much more!
Visitors to the markets are not only tourists but also residents shopping for fresh produces sold direct as well as a good time out.
So, if you are looking for something local, quirky or classic, a fun time out by day or night you have to visit the markets!

Tanks Markets
Where: Tanks Promenade on Colins Avenue in Edge Hill, Cairns
When: last Sunday of each month from April to November between 9:00am and 2:00pm
If you don't know what to do on a Sunday morning then bring the family along to the Tanks Markets. There is something for everyone: food stalls, arts and cratfs, collectables, entertainment and more.
Set in the Cairns Botanical Gardens you will be surrounded by the most beautiful and unusual flora the Tropical North Queensland region showcases.
Children will love the Tanks Markets! Activities are organised and supervised by professionals from 9:00am to 12:00noon at Tank 3. The activities are organised according to the children's ages and will change each month. Please note a guardian must be the thee child at all times.

Ports North Cruise Liner Markets
Where: outside the Cruise Ship Terminal on Wharf Street, Cairns
When: held during the 'Cruise Season' from October to April from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Palm Cove Sunday Markets
Where: Palm Cove Williams Esplanade
When: every first Sunday of the month from April to December - from 8:00am to 2:00pm
A great way to start your Sunday, enjoy a breakfast on Williams Esplande in one of the numerous cafes/restaurants offering breakfast menu, before strolling up and down the Esplanade to discover local produce, hand made products, clothing, jewellery and food. This market is appreciated by locals and tourists alike!
Palm Cove Williams Esplanade is closed to traffic from Cedar Road to Harpa Street making it a safe place to take the whole family on a Sunday morning.

Holloways Beach Markets
Where: Holloways Beach along Casuarina Street, 10 minutes North of Cairns City
When: second Sunday of each month from 8:00am to 1:00pm
Holloways Beach usually a quiet suburb of Cairns, bursts into life every time the markets are on.
Colourfull displays of local arts and crafts, fresh produces, food stalls, music and secondhand items all along Casuarina Street (Holloways Beach's own esplanade).
Holloways Beach is a patrolled beach so bring the family for a swim. Like most beaches there are free BBQs for you to use.

Cairns Esplanade Markets
Where: by The Lagoon, on The Esplanade
When: every Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm
Conveniently located in the heart of Cairns City the Esplanade Markets make the perfect day out!
Wander the market stalls, enjoy a refreshing swim at The Lagoon, take advantage of the free BBQs along The Esplanade while the kids are having fun on the playgrounds... Make the most of your day at the markets!
